Follow Your Bliss

Welcome back!

I will admit that 2009 was a good year for me. As I have previously posted in my 2009 Review post I had a ton of blessings to take place. More than ever before I was affirmed that I am doing with my life what God has called me to do. My ministry and my writing business both grew in 2009 instead of standing still or becoming stagnant.

With the economy in a topsy turvy state this in itself is a blessing. Therefore looking back over the year I was extremely blessed to be able to participate in some “opportunities” that “topped the cake” to the blissful life I already live. Meaning that I am already extremely blessed to be a work at home mom who gets to do what I love everyday, but even more so I was giving the blessings and opportunities of attending some conferences in this past year that were simply bliss.  blissdom

The first was Blissdom 09, this past February. I have been a blogger since 2005, but had rarely met any of the ladies I interact with online. It was nothing but per bliss to be able to sit in a room amongst over 200 of them during Blissdom in Nashville.

Secondly, I got to rub shoulders with some internet marketing girls and gals at BOSS 09 in San Antonio in October. I learned from some amazing people such as Carrie Wilkerson, the Barefoot Executive, David Frey, @AskMrVideo, and @Nicheology. What an opportunity.

For a work at home mom who doesn’t get out much, but does have the opportunity to follow her bliss everyday by pursuing her passions online, being in the same room with other people who get that is BLISS.

Blissdom Conference ~ Nashville ~ February 4-6 2010This post is written so that I can have a little bliss in 2010, as an entry into a contest over at Mom in the City to win a ticket to Blissdom 2010.

Out of My Comfort Zone

Stepping out of one’s comfort zone is difficult to do, but it is often necessary if you are to grow.  Whether the growth that takes place is spiritual, mental or emotionally, in order to grow, many times, we must step out of our comfort zone.  This is what I am in the process of doing.  I have been hanging out in “communities” online for a long time.  These communities for years have include with WAHMs (Work at home moms).  They get me, they understand me, they face the same things I do daily.

For the past year I have also been in the circle or community of mom bloggers, or those who don’t want to be called mom bloggers, but for whatever reason are in the category.  Now, I don’t exactly consider myself a mom blogger either, but I am a mom and I blog and I was quite interested in and enjoyed hanging around the other moms in this community.

comfortzoneBut, the time has come where I must step into another “community”.  This month I have taken giant leaps in my business.  I am stepping out in order to make my dreams for my ministry and my business come true.  This has involved becoming an LLC, pursuing publishing opportunities and finally, extending my circle of influence by stepping into a new “community” that of professionals.  There are many WAHMs who consider themselves professionals, business owners or entrepreneurs.  This is a label I would not mind pinning on myself, a professional, an entrepreneur.  Therefore, I must step out of my comfort zone.  Check back later for how my journey is going.  Big things are coming.

I Need a Breakthrough

I am convinced that sometimes you can have so many ideas, so many projects and so much going on that you can get bogged down in it.  That’s how I am feeling right now.  Things are going along quite nicely for me.  I am loving my life, what I do for a living, and generally feeling productive, but I am wanting to work smarter, not harder so I am attempting to truly leverage those things I do have going for me.

Take for instance my new training membership program, Faith Leaps,  it is so much fun! I have had a blast creating it. It is truly right up my alley and I love seeing people succeed with it.  The thing is, though I know HOW to create it and the ideas just flowed, on the other hand I am not so good at marketing it.  There is just something in me that is a little shy when it comes to promotion.  I am not good at promoting myself.

That’s where I need a breakthrough, I need help, an action plan.  And I am going to get it.  I am getting Kelly’s Breakthrough Brainstorming package and I am so excited about it.  I have worked with Kelly many times before each time was successful as I know this time will be.

I’m excited about all that I’m getting with this pack including:

  • A brainstorming beach ball and a sharpie! Oh and I told Kelly my kids might steal it and she said “Oh I usually include one for the kids too!” Now that’s a woman who understands Work at home moms.
  • A Brainstorming Workbook (I love this it is a real workbook mailed to me! :) )
  • 2 – 45 min coaching sessions with Kelly
  • Honestly, this is worth the price of the whole kit.

As I said before, I have had coaching with Kelly and I have enjoyed my membership at Mom Masterminds for two years now.  Every penny I have spent with Kelly has been worth it.  If you’re feeling stuck, need some help or just want to do more in your Work at home business I recommend checking all of these resources out.

P.S.  The Brainstorming Kit is under $100 until April 1st when the price goes up!
