Welcome back!

Thursday ThirteenI should have ton a Tackle It Tuesday earlier in the week because I did quite a bit of tackling on Tuesday. I was able to meet with organizing coach, Marcia, for the first time and I had an action plan for a couple of my spring projects so I was raring to go. Between 2 pm and 5:30 pm I spent time cleaning out and purging my office supply closet.

Today’s Thursday Thirteen is going to be about everything I have accomplished so far in this project and maybe some of my other spring projects, you can read more about them in my post The Big Green Spring Clean I posted last week.

Thirteen Things I’ve accomplished so far:

1. Cleaned out my pantry.

2. Purged paperwork from office closet.

3. Sorted my photos into photo boxes.

4. Organized my scrapbooking supplies.

5. Took pictures of the supplies I do not want and will list for sale on Ebay.

6. Filed all my ministry paperwork.

7. Printed all my invoices/receipts for my ministry to pdf on my computer.

8. Bought supplies for my command center.

9. Rearranged my shelves in my office closet for better use.

10. Created a plan for what I want the final results of my office closet to look like, I’m inspired!

11. Sorted and purged office supplies.

12. Vaccumed the area.

13. Felt accomplished.

Okay, I had a hard time finding a number 13, but that was all hard work! Hope you feel inspired to SPRING Clean or Organize, I prefer organizing.

It’s Best to Work Your Plan

To Do ListMan, I hate it when I feel like I’m flying by the seat of my pants.  Today was one of those days, I messed up, forgot that I was going to have an appointment.  Got behind, then scheduled a haircut (which I really didn’t have time for but did it), had to go grocery shopping (this isn’t my normal day),  my husband changed our plans at the last minute, I didn’t do my quiet time, well you get the point.

I am normally a person that lives life by a plan, maybe not an exact schedule, but I have some sort of a routine in my day, and lately I have tried to be a bit more precise in an effort to make better use of my time.  I also normally use a to do list and check things off as I go.

Right now, I am working with a organizing/time management coach,  Marcia of Take Charge Solutions, and as part of this she has created me an action plan and is having me write down the time I spend on things daily on a daily time log for 3-5 days.  Today, with my haphazard schedule and many unexpected things coming up, I failed miserably at working a plan, or using my time wisely.

I also learned one thing.  I overbook myself, and therefore I cause myself more misery than what it is worth.  So, I am going to make myself a promise to work my plan, stick to my routine and not over book myself again in the future.

Wow, I’m already making progress with this “becoming more organized “thing. Thanks Marcia!
