Motivation Monday

Welcome back!

Every week we go through the same routine, we get a case of the Monday’s and wish it was Tuesday at least, but most likely we long for Friday.  Then it’s the weekend and it flys right by landing us back on Monday.  What a cycle huh?  How do you handle a case of the Monday’s?

For me staying in my routines is important.  No matter what day of the week it is if I can follow my routines, then I can rock and roll right through even the worst day, even a case of the Mondays.  My routines include: my quiet time, getting a shower first thing in the morning, cleaning up my kitchen, breakfast, dressing my children, scheduled work time, breaks, and chores.  Without doing those things my life will turn into chaos pretty quickly around here in a household where the children out number the adults.

This is how I cope.  What about you?

I share another tool I use to keep my sanity in my vlog, My Binder Obsession.  Check it out and let me know your thoughts.

Monthly Goals List: May

I created this list on Sunday night during my planning session, but wanted to post something on my blog each day this week, so I chose today for this list. I told you all I was a list fanatic and create a ton of them. This one is particularly motivating though, there is nothing like a good goals list. I think moms should have goals don’t you???

Here is my monthly goals list for May as done like my friend Chrys suggested and I blogged about on Sunday.

May Goals:

That is 10 good goals, cheer me on as I try to reach them!!

Monday Motivation

Today, I am happy to report that I am motivated. I have gotten my writing done which is a huge undertaking to say the least.  Especially today because my husband is off work for some crazy holiday and home.  He luckily took my son to school so that helped.

I am contributing my motivation to the fact that I had an oddly un-productive week last week and I was determined to make up for it this week.  Also, I have some goals that I want to meet before the end of the month, which is now only 2 days away.

One key to staying motivated for me that I think everyone can benefit from is to set myself some goals.  I believe everyone should have goals, daily, weekly and monthly are a good start, but yearly and even lifetime goals are better.  I set my yearly goals back in January during the celebration of the New Year.  I thought now would be a good time to refresh my memory of those.  Here they are:

Goals for 2008

  • Complete 2 resources in Mom Masterminds per month.- On and off with this, but I have completed a few things.
  • Create 1 information product per Quarter for Beauty By Design Ministries. – I decided to do this but offer them for free to my subscribers, instead of sell them.
  • Start an affiliate program for Beauty by Design Ministries by July 2008. -  Started it but rethinking this one now.
  • Maintain 10 retainer clients with Writer for Hire. – I don’t have quite this many, but I have a thriving business that I am proud of , and that’s the most important thing.
  • Increase my income through residual means. Ultimate goal to make ½ my income this way. -  Working on this.
  • Finish my Master’s Degree. – This has gone on the backburner.
  • Get out of debt. – Well on my way.
  • Live more frugally. – A work in progress.
  • Keep a cleaner house. – Doing well, this is the one thing I am most proud of, because it was the hardest for me.
  • Do Daily Quiet times.  – Doing well and it is paying off, any day started with God is better!

Well, let’s see, some of these goals I am right on target with while others, I have decided to drop or rephrase.  I think that is okay, don’t you?

Regardless I think setting goals is important, after all there is a saying that says, “A person that aims at nothing is sure to hit it.”  So, if we want to achieve things we must give ourselves something, rather than nothing to aim at, and goals are that something.  Don’t forget to :  Think BIG

I would love your thoughts about goals and aims.  Comment below.
