Monthly Goals List: May

Published by Alyssa Avant under Just Me

I created this list on Sunday night during my planning session, but wanted to post something on my blog each day this week, so I chose today for this list. I told you all I was a list fanatic and create a ton of them. This one is particularly motivating though, there is nothing like a good goals list. I think moms should have goals don’t you???

Here is my monthly goals list for May as done like my friend Chrys suggested and I blogged about on Sunday.

May Goals:

That is 10 good goals, cheer me on as I try to reach them!!

Monday Motivation

Published by Alyssa Avant under Memes

Today, I am happy to report that I am motivated. I have gotten my writing done which is a huge undertaking to say the least.  Especially today because my husband is off work for some crazy holiday and home.  He luckily took my son to school so that helped.

I am contributing my motivation to the fact that I had an oddly un-productive week last week and I was determined to make up for it this week.  Also, I have some goals that I want to meet before the end of the month, which is now only 2 days away.

One key to staying motivated for me that I think everyone can benefit from is to set myself some goals.  I believe everyone should have goals, daily, weekly and monthly are a good start, but yearly and even lifetime goals are better.  I set my yearly goals back in January during the celebration of the New Year.  I thought now would be a good time to refresh my memory of those.  Here they are:

Goals for 2008

  • Complete 2 resources in Mom Masterminds per month.- On and off with this, but I have completed a few things.
  • Create 1 information product per Quarter for Beauty By Design Ministries. - I decided to do this but offer them for free to my subscribers, instead of sell them.
  • Start an affiliate program for Beauty by Design Ministries by July 2008. -  Started it but rethinking this one now.
  • Maintain 10 retainer clients with Writer for Hire. - I don’t have quite this many, but I have a thriving business that I am proud of , and that’s the most important thing.
  • Increase my income through residual means. Ultimate goal to make ½ my income this way. -  Working on this.
  • Finish my Master’s Degree. - This has gone on the backburner.
  • Get out of debt. - Well on my way.
  • Live more frugally. - A work in progress.
  • Keep a cleaner house. - Doing well, this is the one thing I am most proud of, because it was the hardest for me.
  • Do Daily Quiet times.  - Doing well and it is paying off, any day started with God is better!

Well, let’s see, some of these goals I am right on target with while others, I have decided to drop or rephrase.  I think that is okay, don’t you?

Regardless I think setting goals is important, after all there is a saying that says, “A person that aims at nothing is sure to hit it.”  So, if we want to achieve things we must give ourselves something, rather than nothing to aim at, and goals are that something.  Don’t forget to :  Think BIG

I would love your thoughts about goals and aims.  Comment below.

Monday Motivation

Published by Alyssa Avant under Memes

I’ve been writing a Monday Motivation for the last couple of weeks and I like doing them because they allow me to see what I have ahead of me and then look back on what I have accomplished at the end of the week. This is something I enjoy as I am very Type A so making lists and checking things off is very satisfying to me.

I do have a full week this week with lots to do, but I really don’t mind that. I like to stay busy. Here’s what my week ahead looks like:

Monday

  • Writing articles for clients.
  • Ordering RA vests for my husband.
  • Packing Ebay Stuff I sold this weekend.
  • Adding Content to New Project’s Site.
  • Writing a Devotion for P31 Ministries.
  • Baker’s 1st Tee Ball Game @ 6 pm(Friday’s Got rained out).
  • Coaching Call with Organizer, Maria.

Tuesday

  • Writing articles for clients.
  • Mail Ebay Stuff.
  • Take Lily to Health Dept.
  • Print out my survey results & evaluate.

Wednesday

  • Write articles for clients.
  • Menu plan & grocery list.
  • Write a commercial for the spot I won on Mom’s Morning Show & Wahm Talk Radio.
  • Church.

Thursday

  • Write articles for clients.
  • Print more cookout invites for K3 Party.
  • Grocery Day

Friday

  • Write articles for clients.
  • Do Ezine.
  • Send Cookout invites to school.

Monday Motivation

Published by Alyssa Avant under Just Me, Just Work

Monday MotivationYes, it’s Monday already and I”m doing another Monday Motivation.  Today I did NOT have a hard time getting motivated.  Last night, I was given an idea, I hope it was from the Lord, and I just didn’t come up with it and begin to run with it without his blessing. But, Luckily I am still praying on it to make sure it’s something I should be pursuing.  I won’t reveal it to you all just yet, but I am very excited about the possibilities.

So, since I researched my idea until almost midnight last night I was really looking forward to getting up this morning and being able to do some more research and work on some of my follow up ideas.  Luckily, this gave me motivation to get some writing done this AM.  I got all my articles out of the way in the 2 hrs set aside for writing that I have each morning while my son is at preschool.  My normal routine is to do my devotional time for 30 minutes and then write for 2 hrs.  This morning I was able to do that and it felt good.

So, I hope the rest of my week goes as well…. here is my schedule:
