7)  Grilled Tilapia, loaded potatoes, grilled asparagus (My husband is cooking this meal.)

How I Plan to Use my Coupons Each Week

Last week I blogged about how I find time to coupon, and promised I’d share more of my coupon strategy with my readers.  Today, I am doing so, with how i plan to use my coupons each week.  With couponing, for me, planning has been key.

My steps for couponing include creating a menu plan, creating a grocery list and sorting out coupons I plan to use.  Each week I have my hubs pick up a store flyer for a store that I like to shop at for meat.  They aren’t as cheap on other items but have good meat specials and better meat than Super Walmart.  I also get the CVS and Walgreens flyers from my mother in laws Sunday paper.  I use all of these to plan what I need in the way of necessities and where I’ll purchase them as well as stocking up on good deals and creating a menu for the week.

Once I see what meat is on special and what coupons I have for other items I can plan my menu, write my list and sort my coupons.  I put the coupons I plan to use in an envelope and carry both with a pen to the grocery store.  I have gotten in the habit of carrying my coupon binder as well just in case I see something on a good deal that I know I have a coupon for.  That way I can grab it as I wait to check out.

That’s my strategy.  What’s yours?  Do you have one that is tried and true that would make my couponing easier? Please share!
