It’s Been a Day of Clearing

Welcome back!

It’s definitely been a day of clearing. In more ways than just one. I cleared my desk, man was it ever a mess. You can see a before and after picture below. This was inspired by one of my new Twitter friends @MyGOMOM, Molly Gold, president of Go Mom Inc. who has been kind enough to supply me with one of her DIY planners for a giveaway next week. I’m super excited about bringing that to my little blog here.

Second, it has been a day of clearing things off of my to do list. I have a speaking engagement this weekend and tomorrow I have to be super focused on that last minute prep for that. Speaking to a group of 1st – 6th grade girls in Madison, MS.

Finally, I’m clearing off that “big goals” list. For the past 3 years, yes you read that right, THREE, I have had a goal to finish my devotional book I’ve been compiling for girls and their moms. It will be a mom-daughter devotional guide and be for that “tween” age group. Today I was talking to my book coach and friend, Kristen over at I Am Published and she gave me that final “push” so to speak. In the next few weeks the book will be being edited, formatted and all that jazz. I will soon and very soon be a “published” author. So excited!

So there you have it… man my plate feels so “clean”. I love Taking action!

Just Say No to Insanity

I had every intention of blogging here more I didn’t promise it because I knew my life was crazy, but in my head it was something I wanted.  Then, I got this crazy idea to just start over. Start a new blog, create a whole other site and leave this one behind, but then I remembered I’d tried that before and it didn’t work.

And since the definition of insanity is “doing the same thing and expecting different results”. I thought I’d better stay sane.  Plus, really honestly, I didn’t need another thing on my plate.

I have BIG goals for 2010. I have a thriving writing business and a ministry.  3 years ago I would have told you today would have been impossible for me to achieve, especially since I have three children, all under the age of six.  But it is real and though my businesses aren’t at the capacity I wish they would be I am making progress.

I have learned vast amounts of things this year.  One thing I know for sure is that in order to grow you have to take risks, you have to take action and you have to work hard.  I’m willing to do those things in 2010 because I have seen in 2009 that they are worth it.

I’m ready for the ride that 2010 is offering.  It is going to be a great adventure.  Check back for my 2010 goals.  I hope you’ll share yours with me too.

I Love It When . . .

A plan actually works.  I am a planner by nature. I love to plan. I love to make lists.  I love to cross things off of lists, and yes I’ve even been known to write something on a list JUST to cross it off.  Go ahead, laugh.

Today I planned to work on client work and double up this week so that I don’t have to work next week during Christmas.  I got lucky and the kids went to Granny’s and I had a few hours of quiet and sanity.  It worked beautifully and for 1/2 of my clients now 2 weeks worth of work has been done.  Now, if Thursday can go just as well, I’ll be set.

Then it is time to plan my 2010.  Can’t wait. I love to plan.  Set goals, dream!
