It’s Been a Day of Clearing

Welcome back!
It’s definitely been a day of clearing. In more ways than just one. I cleared my desk, man was it ever a mess. You can see a before and
after picture below. This was inspired by one of my new Twitter friends @MyGOMOM, Molly Gold, president of Go Mom Inc. who has been kind enough to supply me with one of her DIY planners for a giveaway next week. I’m super excited about bringing that to my little blog here.
Second, it has been a day of clearing things off of my to do list. I have a speaking engagement this weekend and tomorrow I have to be super focused on that last minute prep for that. Speaking to a group of 1st – 6th grade girls in Madison, MS.
Finally, I’m clearing off that “big goals” list. For the past 3 years, yes you read that right, THREE, I have had a goal to finish my devotional book I’ve been compiling for girls and their moms. It will be a mom-daughter devotional guide and be for that “tween” age group. Today I was talking to my book coach and friend, Kristen over at I Am Published and she gave me that final “push” so to speak. In the next few weeks the book will be being edited, formatted and all that jazz. I will soon and very soon be a “published” author. So excited!
So there you have it… man my plate feels so “clean”. I love Taking action!
Do Your Kids Do Chores – A Giveaway

in Featured, Just Contests
If there’s one thing I wish I could figure out about parenting, it is how to motivate my children to pick up their toys, clean up after themselves and not make such messes. I know that’s what children do, and I have to teach them, and they have to grow up a little, but there has got to be something to make this process a little better.
I would really like advice in this area though, my children are 6, 2.5 and 18 months. I want to be realistic but at the same time I need them to help. I could really use something like this handy dandy chore chart. I bet that would help huh? Here’s what one customer had to say about the chore chart:
“As soon as we started using this chart we noticed an improvement in our son’s behavior. Our expectations no longer seem arbitrary to him. Instead he knows what we expect, and he looks forward to reviewing the chart at each day’s end. When he has performed what is expected of him, he gets to place a smiley face magnet in the appropriate box.”
Well, if you give me some great chore advice I’ll enter you to win one. Yep! My Precious Kid has donated one to give away
here on the blog. Enter between now and Sunday, January 24 at midnight and you’ll be entered to win. Simply leave your chore advice in the comments below. (Contest valid in the United States only.)
I’ll randomly choose a winner on Monday, January 25.
Stride Rite Giveaway

I don’t do many reviews or giveaways anymore but when this one was offered to me I couldn’t refuse. I have a little man who is just learning to walk. He is 14 months old tomorrow and has taken his first steps in the past month. My little man is now toddling all over our house but is still a bit hesitant when he is in “unfamiliar” places. He is my last baby, so this is my last chance to watch the fun faces and things that a little one does when they learn to walk.

For this Giveaway, you may enter to win your child a pair of Stride Rite shoes. Stride Rite’s quality and durability is amazing. They are a great shoe for little ones learning to walk. These shoes given to me by Stride Rite as well as offered in this giveaway have a new technology called Sensory Response Technology. Here’s what Stride Rite says about this technology and what it can mean for your little one,
SRT’s features promote a healthy lifelong walking pattern and improve baby’s ability to respond to their environment. Highlights include:
* Greater feel of terrain: Sensory pods in the forefoot of the outsole move independently of each other offering multiple reaction points, increasing a baby’s feel of the ground beneath them. This allows a baby to stabilize their gait and better respond to their environment.
* More natural support: Unique “hourglass” construction in the midfoot mirrors a baby’s foot structure to help supporting bones and muscles that are not yet fully developed. A smooth, rounded transition from outsole to upper prevents catching an edge, reducing the number of stumbles and falls.
* Freedom of movement: Ultra-flexible design allows the foot to move in many directions to help baby learn how to adapt to uneven surfaces.
If you would like to win your own pair of Stride Rite’s for your little one here are the giveaway details:
- 5 winners will be chosen to receive one pair of SRT shoes, available in sizes 3 to 8 infant/toddler (including medium and wide). Each pair is a retail value of $50. In order to enter, readers must fill out the following form.
Has your little one taken his/ her first steps? Tell me about it in the comments below.
