It’s Been a Day of Clearing

Welcome back!
It’s definitely been a day of clearing. In more ways than just one. I cleared my desk, man was it ever a mess. You can see a before and
after picture below. This was inspired by one of my new Twitter friends @MyGOMOM, Molly Gold, president of Go Mom Inc. who has been kind enough to supply me with one of her DIY planners for a giveaway next week. I’m super excited about bringing that to my little blog here.
Second, it has been a day of clearing things off of my to do list. I have a speaking engagement this weekend and tomorrow I have to be super focused on that last minute prep for that. Speaking to a group of 1st – 6th grade girls in Madison, MS.
Finally, I’m clearing off that “big goals” list. For the past 3 years, yes you read that right, THREE, I have had a goal to finish my devotional book I’ve been compiling for girls and their moms. It will be a mom-daughter devotional guide and be for that “tween” age group. Today I was talking to my book coach and friend, Kristen over at I Am Published and she gave me that final “push” so to speak. In the next few weeks the book will be being edited, formatted and all that jazz. I will soon and very soon be a “published” author. So excited!
So there you have it… man my plate feels so “clean”. I love Taking action!
I Needed This

Back during the Christmas holidays I stumbled upon a blog and message board Women Living Well. Courtney the author and owner is an amazing Christian woman. I found her through one of my favorite blogs, Sarah Mae’s Like a Warm Cup of Coffee. She had commented on a quite controversial post and so had I so I went over for a visit to her blog. What I found was a “community” of Christian ladies that I knew from the first post or two I’d want to be apart of, since then I have gotten involved there and found accountability and encouragement.
That is what I needed. Courtney encourages ladies to find some in real life “accountability” partners and to form relationships with them such as her suggested Good Morning Girls to help keep us accountable to doing our quiet times (time alone with God). I did this with 2 of my in real life friends and am so glad that I did. I not only get the accountability but I am enjoying the connection with them each day. As a Work at home mom I often lack that contact with other moms.
The other thing that I have stumbled upon in the blog-o-sphere that I am enjoying is #FreshYearFresh Start. This is a great group of Christian ladies putting this on as well. Today’s post is all about what is working for me to help me spiritually in 2010. I do feel I am off to a fresh start in this New Year. What about you?
She Took a “Leap of Faith”

One of my latest projects, FaithLeaps.com, is training for those who are hoping to take a leap of faith into “speaking, writing, and / or ministry”. I am enjoying doing the training sessions, which are include both written and audio lessons. It was my hope that participants would truly feel able to take a “leap of faith” after completing the lessons.
For Shynea Hunter, the process has worked, and incredibly she has already taken a leap of faith and the we just completely lesson 4 of 6. On March 23, Shynea officially launching Mornings with Mom. I am so proud of her. Learn more about Mornings with Mom below:
I hope you’ll check Shynea’s site out today. It looks like a wealth of information and one thing is for sure, she is “called” to do this and she took a “leap of faith” to get here.

I'm Alyssa, a Christian writer & speaker, but most of all a wife & mom with an amazing husband, Greg and three energetic kids. I am in a season of simplifying my life, which God says means trading good for best. Please stay, connect, and follow my journey.
