Things I Feel Guilty About

Welcome back!
So, I’ve been fighting the fact that I can’t find anything to blog about, or maybe I should say I can’t find the time to blog here. Even though I want to, I long to, I enjoy it when I do, and miss it when I don’t. The fact is my life is busy, full, lively, and most of the time fun. That doesn’t keep me from feeling guilty about the things I can’t seem to get around too all the time, such as:
1. Blogging here, as I just mentioned often enough. (It has been over a week since my last post.)
2. The dirty dishes in my sink.
3. My messyliving room, bedroom, house.
4. That I don’t take my kids to story time at the local library.
5. That I don’t call my momma every day.
6. That I don’t make it to church every Sunday, even though it has been due to sick kids.
What about you? Do you have things you find yourself . . . not being able to do, though you want to, you mean to? Please share!
I’m Passionate, Not Perfect

Sitting in the hairdressers chair this morning it became even more apparent, though it didn’t have anything to do with getting my hair done. No, it had more to do with the conversation taking place. My hairdresser, a friend of mine, is also in ministry, she sings in a gospel quartet, next to her in the other hairdressers chair sat a pastor’s wife who has spent much time in ministry, and is a freelance writer herself. The three of us were in deep conversation about the what we do. How ministry “jobs” come along, speaking opportunities, invites to sing, and opportunities to write, how there are peaks and valleys, ebbs and flows, but how much we enjoy what we do.
As I sat there and poured out my story to the pastor’s wife, who wasn’t aware of what I have been doing for the past 2.5 years I felt it, that sense of “knowing” once again that THIS is my calling. This is my passion. Yesterday, I read this quote on a fellow blogger’s blog and it struck me deeply, Thanks Holley –
“It seems God values passion more than our idea of perfection. That doesn’t mean following our feelings but rather pursuing Him relentlessly and refusing to become passive.”
How wonderful it is that God is more concerned about my passion, and passion I have! I’m also proud to continue pursing Him and doing whatever it takes.

All the buzz around the blogosphere right now is over BlogHer, a massive bloggers conference in Chicago. I am not attending blog her and amazingly enough though 1500 bloggers are going to be in attendance there are plenty others of us who aren’t. In fact, I will be on vacation during BlogHer, which I am super excited about. I might even get to see one of my favorite bloggers, Robin, as I am visiting her hometown and she’s well, going to be there, as she isn’t attending BlogHer either.
She’s also going to be helping us bloggers who will still be home, blogging about normal, everyday life, or in my case, family vacation to have our own little party. Blog Hop 09′ and it is going to be a blast. I’m super excited about it, because it has some great prizes, including a $150 scholarship to Type A Mom Conference in September, which I’m already planning to attend, but boy would I love some help getting there.
So, you going to BlogHer? Or are you going Blog Hopping with me and Robin and some other gals? Let me know in the comments below.
