Momsagenda Planner

Published by Alyssa under Books

I was so excited when Momsagenda agreed to have me review their Momsagenda planner. Last year sometime I did a giveaway here on my blog for them and you should have seen the influx of traffic to the blog due to the giveaway. Sorry, I don’t have one to give away to you guys because they truly are fabulous. I was so excited when my mini-agenda came in the mail and even more excited when I saw it was the leopard print, my fav.

The other night at my Tomgirls meeting my friends were absolutely loving this little planner as much as I do. I have definitely broken it in this week, getting all my appointments, addresses and finally daily to do’s filled in. I love the compactness of this handy little planner and that it’s tough enough to toss into my enormous handbag.

In fact, the only thing I guess I would say against this cute little planner is that it doesn’t stay open on its own and you have to hold it open. If you could lay it out flat that would make it the perfect little planner. I have a tendency to think of things I need to write after the book as flipped shut.

Other than that, I love it and hope to keep using them. Thanks Momsagenda!

Sam Feels Better Now

Published by Alyssa under Books

As a child, I struggled with anxiety issues. It wasn’t uncommon for me to have attacks of sheer panic, which were very difficult for me to deal with.  My parents of course saught the help of a professional.  The book, Sam Feels Better Now, would have been such a good addition to the tools my psychologist used with me as a child.  I couldn’t help but think back to those days while reading this book to my son last night.  And though my son, age 4, doesn’t currently have any experiences with which he’s developed a sheer sense of fear he may one day and this book will be a useful resource to use with him when the time comes.

picture of childIt is clear that a professional wrote this book, using terms and key tasks that will help walk the child through dealing with their thoughts and feelings and working on no longer being afraid.  It is a very useful resource for anyone who has a child who has gone through a traumatic experience.  Giving them a way to work through their feelings that they will enjoy and understand as they draw the things they witnessed, depictions of their emotions and other things and talk them through with their parent or their parent and a therapist. This book can be used alone with your child or through your relationship with a trained professional.  Either way it will definitely be a useful tool in dealing with your child’s feelings.
