Last spring I had ever intention of creating a command center. It was on my Spring Clean to do list and everything. I started it, but oddly never finished it. Today I tackled that project again. I was inspired by Org Junkie’s contest and there are still a few things I’d like to have for my command center, but…here’s what I have so far:
I still would like to have something to better organize papers and a calendar as well. Hoping I will win the Org Junkie contest. Do you have a control center? How do you stay organized? (Click on picture to view larger).

I'm Alyssa, a Christian writer & speaker, but most of all a wife & mom with an amazing husband, Greg and three energetic kids. I am in a season of simplifying my life, which God says means trading good for best. Please stay, connect, and follow my journey.

i’m a homeschool mom of 3 years and a scrapbooker/stamper, so I’ve found that i had to get orgazined to survive. My dh gave up his office so our son could have his own room (well, he actually shares the room with my dh’s now “mini-office”. So, we spent a few weeks this summer creating a homeschool/scrapbooking room. It’s probably the only room in the house where everything has a place! I do have a closet where I placed cubes like the one you have (i got them from Michael’s) to keep scrapbooking stuff, including all my paper. I have a large freestanding closet for homeschool curriculum/books, two desks with paper organizers, etc etc and one large file cabinet. i have smaller cabinets, etc to hold other supplies as well. I am learning to use Google calendar to keep us on schedule. i really should take pics and post them to my blog. Guess i could do that later today. LMK if you have specific questions and i’ll try to help. I’m no pro; but i used to be much more organized and find myself getting back to it little by little. My email is erica@senecal.us or visit my blog if you’d like!

Looking good Alyssa! I love how you have everything important right there at your finger tips!

Alyssa – that looks so great! I’m moving towards something like that – although it’s going to take many steps and furniture moves to get there. I love the way it looks – it’s pretty! =) Pretty and functional – gotta love it!

my command center is still evolving. i keep seeing great posts like yours and thinking of something i want to add/change/etc. i don’t know how mommies without some sort of organization system make it through a day. seriously. if i weren’t organized, i’d be curled up in a crying little ball in the corner.

Very nice! My desk looks nothing like that. Although not a mess, nothing is awesomely organized like yours!

Great ideas. Right now, my command center is a big desk in the living room, but I’m thinking about setting up a little home office to keep my work separate from home stuff. Not sure if that will be more or less efficient. It looks like you and I do similar stuff; I am a freelance writer/editor. Thank you for stopping by my blog; I’m glad to have found you here!

I SO need to do this. Life would be infinitely easier if I just took some time to organize my life! Thanks for the inspiration!
