Prayer & Business, They Go Hand in Hand

Welcome back!
This blog post idea was sparked just moments ago. After a super fast chat session with a mom, The Queen Mommy, Debbie, whom I’ve never met face to face, but I truly feel a “heart connection” with I began planning for a “prayer session”. I plan to pray about a possible partnership / business / ministry venture over the next 2 weeks before she and I meet again to discuss it and to share with each other what God’s answer for the idea is, and to decide the direction in which we will then proceed.
After chatting with her, feeling that incredible “God -connection” and being excited about the possibility of a new ministry stream I excitedly tweeted about it, specifically about our plans to “pray” about it. I tweeted prayer and business they go “hand in hand”. I truly believe it. As the Bible says,
“A man’s heart plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps.”
Proverbs 16:9 (NKJV)
The only way that I can know what step He wants me to take next is to pray. Get that connection with God that will lead me to the next step. I love how that works. I’ll keep you posted. I’m heading into my prayer closet and a 2 week prayer meeting with God over the possibilities.

Alyssa – I love how God knits hearts together – people who've never met, and yet feel a strong desire to minister together in a way that touches others! What a blessing you are.
We'll both be in our prayer closets over this and seeking God's guidance and wisdom every step on our way.

I am in complete agreement with this post! What some Christians also refuse to understand as well is "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers"
2Co 6:14 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?
That includes business dealings as well. If you are considering a business partnership with someone, your first question should be "Are they a Believer?" Then go in to your prayer closet and talk to the Lord about it. If they are not a believer, don't waste your time. I've seen this go badly time and again. "For what fellowship can light have with darkness?

This is so true. Prayer is something I do before most every business decision I make, and the ones I don't pray about always go wrong or takes me away from what God really wants me to do.
I will also be praying for you and Debbie and your new possible ministry. {{hugs}}

I also believe in the power and strength in prayer. I always offer up a prayer when making decisions. I'm not sure I always wait for the answer and sometimes move forward on my own. That is so great that you have set aside that time to pray and receive an answer.

Good post–I've hear/read several times lately that so much of our lack of impact on our worlds as Christians is because we keep our religious/spirtual/church selves seperate from our secular/work/business selves.
