Learning & Growing

Welcome back!

With anything new you must learn and grow for it to be most successful.   This is a new year, I have new goals  thus  I need to learn and grow.  I  have plans to do this  in many ways  over the next few months.  Last night I took a personality test to learn more about myself. I have taken them before, but just couldn’t recall what my personality type was. I found out again last night that it is Melancholy / Phlegmatic.  It was amazing to look at the description and for it to be so me.  One of the things I discovered was that my personality type is “introverted” and most people think I’m an extrovert.  Honestly, deep down I believe I knew all along that I was an introvert.  I remember being a shy child.growing

So, what happened you may wonder?  Well, I believe I’ve been conditioned to be more of an extrovert.  My parents did this by constantly encouraging me to do more and be more outgoing.  I am glad that they did but it is also good for me to remind myself of who I truly am and what I have gone through to become who I am now.  It is all a process of learning and growing.

Another thing that I was thinking about last night is about the spiritual gifts and strengths that I have.  I love doing these type tests but I really didn’t have to take a spiritual gifts inventory to know what my gifts are as I’ve done these so many times before.  My spiritual gifts are mainly Teaching, Encouraging and Leadership.

Taking these things into account will help me this year as I try to reach more goals for 2009.  I believe that we should all evaluate our gifts, talents, strengths and abilities as we begin to reach for those things that we want this year.  What are your strengths and abilities?
