A Fresh Start

Published by Alyssa Avant at 8:20 am under Just Me

fresh startIn a couple of days we’ll start a new month. I love starting a new month.  It’s something about a fresh month that makes me happy.  Yes, our bank account is relatively full of cash at least for a day or two, that is until all the checks and debits clear for all our bills that are due the beginning of the month.  But, despite that, it still gives me the opportunity to start fresh and new.  Set new goals, make new plans, find new things to discover and learn from.  All reasons I love beginning a new month.

Each day gives us a fresh start too.  I like to start my day with my prayer time and Bible study, writing in my journal.  It is comforting to look at a clean white page of paper in my journal and fill it with my thoughts and prayers.  Then head to my desk and created my To Do list on another clean, white, fresh sheet of paper.

Finally I head to the kitchen and lately actually get to stare into a clean sparkling sink and begin my day.  Ahh!  Tis so sweet to have a fresh start. What about you, what are some fresh starts that you enjoy in your own life?

A fresh house does it for me. I cleaned yesterday and then had to run an errand. When I came back home my house smelled like fresh lemons…it was heaven!

I’ve also started doing my devotional time in the morning. I used to do it before bedtime, but I find the mornings are just better all around. It’s a fresh start to my day!

The magazine I work for publishes twice a year and we’re about to publish our November issue. I love publishing time, we put 6 months of work to rest, and then we start fresh on the next issue.

At home, September is when schools starts and activities like music lessons, winter sports stuff, etc all kick off. So now that October is coming, it’s time to settle into this years routine which is also great.
