For the love of….

heart wafflesEggos. I heart Eggos.  Waffles that is.  Yes, they are frozen and yes real ones would be better, but I’m a busy mom and well, these are “convenient”.  I’m not sure if its a pregnancy craving or a general love in general. I’ll tell you in a few days, hopefully.  However, I did forget to tell you all about the FREE waffle I was blessed with on my trip to Charlotte, NC.

It was the last day there, hubby and I had actually driven over to the rental car road so that we could take it back before going to the airport.  We saw “Waffle House” and decided to stop there for lunch. YUM!! I thought, but opted for a patty melt with hashbrowns rather than a waffle.  Bad thing was the entire time I sat there I smelled and saw those steamy hot waffles being pulled off the irons, torture, pure torture.

Finally, they pulled one off, the cook hollers for the waitress who needs the waffle, and he hollers, and he hollers until finally he says, “Ma’am”, I look up, “Is he talking to me?” Apparently he is because he continues, “Ma’am, would you like a waffle, on the house?”  I think I’m beaming at this point, though I still glance at my husband for reassurance and then quickly reply, “Sure.”

It was amazing, Thick, crisp, but chewy on the inside, you could just smell its sweetness.  I did not even put a dab or butter or a trickle of syrup I just pulled it apart with my fingers and ate.  YUM is not even enough to describe it.  Yes, I confess, I have a love affair with waffles.
