Yes, I’ll Be There

Welcome back!

I’m writing this post for all you ladies who are hopping over from Lysa Terkeurst’s blog about She Speaks. Yes, I’ll be there. Even though I will be 36 weeks pregnant, read more about why this is so important to me here and why I believe this is a God thing here.

She SPeaks

I want to say thanks to those of you who did come over from Lysa’s blog for coming and that I can’t wait to “meet” you. I am in awe that there will be 500 ladies there. Did I mention I’m bringing my husband? We celebrate 8 years together on June 17 and come to She Speaks later that week. It will be out “time away” just before baby #3 is born. AHHH!!! I hope I don’t loose him in all those women.

So, ladies, I LOVE comments so be sure to leave me one. If you’ve attended She Speaks before give me your best advice on getting the most out of it. If you have never attended before tell me briefly why you are attending. I would love to know everyone’s reasons.

The other day I set some goals for She Speaks because well I’m just a goal setter. I wouldn’t be me without a PLAN and a GOAL. So here are my goals for She Speaks.

My Goals for She Speaks

  • I want to get a clearer vision of where I am going with my ministry.
  • I want to learn how to market myself better.
  • I want to decide if I am going to pursue becoming a published author.

If you have goals why not post them on your blog and then post the link in my comments and I’ll come over and read them and root you on. I love to be an encouragement to others. Again, I can’t wait to “Meet” you all at She Speaks. I fly out 3 weeks from today! WHOO HOO!!!

    Hi Alyssa,

Thanks for visiting my blog and saying ‘Hi’.

The conference certainly is approaching quickly!!! I did attend the Conference back in 2005 and have been longing to return since that summer. This year God spoke SO CLEARLY through others, through His Word, through His still small voice, and although fearful, I’m stepping out in faith. Don’t misunderstand, I’m not fearful of the conference – it is a joy and delight from the moment you arrive!!! But, I’m fearful of flying (last time I drove down with a friend), so this is a HUGE step of faith for me. God is calling me to trust Him like never before. I’m anticipating experiencing my Big God!!!!

You can read about my experience in 2005 here: http://princessjoyful.blogspot.com/2008/01/she-speaks-conference-priceless.html

Looking forward to meeting you. Thanks for taking the time to connect.
    Blessings!

Hi Alyssa! Thanks for visiting me.

This will be my first writers conference! I’ve only ever been to 2 retreats in my life. I don’t get out much. haha.

I have already had an article accepted for publication in Nov ‘08 and am working to get more.

Can’t wait to see you, your hubby and an infant, right? Wow – busy lady!

    Hi Alyssa,
I am so excited about the conference this year! You are really walking by faith to come there right before baby comes! I’m glad you’re bringing your husband. Getting time alone is important when you have little ones.

This is my first time at the conference so I don’t have any advice.

I am expecting to have God give me further direction in my writing career.

I hope to meet some people who will encourage me in my journey.

I am also looking forward to meeting with God on a corporate level with 499 other ladies who Love Him!

    See you there.

PS. I have enjoyed your site.

  4. Ok, I accepted your challenge and have posted my goals for SheSpeaks. I have never been, didn’t even know it existed until it was too late to register last year, and had no idea how I was going to pay to go this year. Then God stepped in at exactly the right time with a writing job out of the blue (I haven’t done any professional writing in years) for exactly the right amount. It could not have been more loud and clear that I am to attend this conference this year.

Here is the link to my goal post http://valerie.thestranathans.com/2008/05/looking-forward-to-shespeaks.html

I’ll see you in 3 weeks!

Great idea to post some goals.
I have some general ones in my head but had not thought about putting them to paper.

I am more of a go with the flow gal, so writing out goals often doesn’t occur to me! :)

This will be my first time attending any type of ministry conference. My main goal is to simply follow a desire God has planted in me and see where He might take me. I am not a published writer (yet) but have felt God leading me to write for several years. In the past few months the desire became overwhelming and I started a blog. It seemed like information on The She Speaks conference just kept showing up everywhere I turned. Finally I clued in that maybe God wanted me to attend. I want to learn, meet new people, and come away with a sense of next steps in this journey!

I’m looking forward to meeting you!
