My Communication Personality

Welcome back!

I am a person who loves to communicate. I text my friends daily, love to talk on the phone, and prefer to TALK rather than write, even though I am both a speaker and a writer I’d rather speak. Being in front of an audience gives me a boost of adrenaline. I love it! This is very strange to some people who have known me all my life because I was a shy child. I was the child who hid behind her momma’s skirt tail, clinging to her leg and scared to death.

So, I was curious when I saw over at Mommy Community that Marie had interviewed JoJo Tabares of Art of Eloquence. This was an interesting podcast and I loved trying to determine which type of communication style I was.

In the end I determined that I am definitely an Amiable Annie, one who is eager to please people, avoids confrontation and has a lot to say but will not say something if she feels she would hurt someone’s feelings.

I thought that this described me pretty well, though I did see myself in some of the other personalities such as Analytical Andrea, because I tend to analyze things but I often don’t share those thoughts,  for fear of hurting someone’s feelings or in fear that a conflict will arise.  I also have a few Dynamic Darla qualities, I am a person who who juggles a lot of responsibilities. I am a doer, who likes just the facts.

So, I can see where I may be one or all three of those personalities wrapped into one!  What about you?

Hi, I’m Audrey. I found you through the MommyFest. My kids tell me that I’m one of the few moms that texts. My kids are older. They tell me that none of their friends parents text. Now, what’s funny is I used to work for AOL and my kids would tell me that no one else’s moms did IM’s LOL. Very nice to meet you.
