We think it’s a God thing….

Welcome back!
I’ve got some excitement. Earlier I blogged about an opportunity to receive a scholarship to a speaker and writer’s conference I’m longing to attend this summer, She Speaks, put on by Proverbs 31 Ministries. I have been following these ladies for quite a while and they have always inspired me. Lately I began reading some of their blogs, which has become quite addictive. More and more I longed to be a part of their ministry in a bigger way. One, I just think they are amazing and have so much that I could learn from them, and secondly I have always though being a part of a speaker’s team would be advantageous to getting out the Word about my ministry in order to reach more teen and tween girls in my mission to “turn the hearts of girls towards God”.
This afternoon, after entering the contest to win the scholarship I was perusing the She Speaks blog and saw where this year one of the Speaker’s Evaluation Groups at the conference is going to be especially for those speaker’s who focus on the topics of beauty, fashion and image, which is exactly what I focus on. Most of my talks to teens and tweens are about beauty, etiquette, fashion and image. The blog post said to email if you wanted to be in this group for the conference. Yes, I had already registered with high hopes of being able to come up with the money in time. So I emailed them and told them I wanted to be in that particular speaker’s evaluation group. I hope LeAnn, the Executive Director Proverbs 31 Ministries doesn’t mind me sharing her replies because I am just so excited and feel that this is SUCH a God thing.
Here’s what she said, well at first she just replied “You got it!” and then no more than 2 minutes later I receive a 2nd email which reads,
“Did you know that we also have a track for teen girls at She Speaks?
Did you know that I am looking for solid content for our teen blog?
Do you want to be my new best friend?
I replied back to her that I’d be interested in providing content and that I would be her friend! And asked how to get involved more with Proverbs 31 Ministries.
She replied,
We have a track for teens ages 12-17. We also have a new division of Proverbs 31 Ministries that is specifically for this age group. It’s called Living with Purpose: A Radical Revolution.
Visit the site at: http://www.radrevolution.blogspot.com so you can see our humble beginnings. I have lots of changes to make to the site but it will give you an idea of the direction we are taking (actually, God is directing this one… we had very little to do with it).
Are you interested?
Filled with excitement I replied “Yes, yes yes and yes!”
She then informed me that I met two of the major qualifications to join the team, first is the attend a She Speaks conference which I am going to be doing, (we hope) and then you must serve the Proverbs 31 Ministries, which I could do by providing blog content. Then of course I would have to have a passion for Proverbs 31 ministries and for the Next Generation. As I told Leann I 100% believe in and am for what Proverbs 31 Ministries stands for and I definitely have a passion for teen and tweens. She said she had visited my site and felt sure I’d meet the requirements as a speaker which they would determine if my quality of speaking is up to par at the conference. Which means, I have just GOT to get to North Carolina in June.
What made me know that she too felt this was a God thing was this line in her email
“When I read your email about being placed in
See, we both think it’s a God thing. Now, Lord, I’m counting on you to “carry on your work to completion.”

Sounds exciting! Good luck getting to NC.

Ya know, when I first read about all that fashion stuff, I immediately thought of you too!
I’m praying you get the help you need to make it to the conference. I hope to be there too although I’m praying about it still — but I would love to meet a fellow Coke addict in person
You’re in my prayers!
