Welcome back!
Today, I had a spontaneous shopping day. I was just sharing on Twitter, that I have been having trouble staying on task, yesterday it was because I had alot of excitement, the call from the literary agent, being interviewed by Marie Ynami for Mommycommunity, and talking about an upcoming event with a ministry client. Today, just the opposite happened. I had a bad situation arise with my bank account. Apparently a large check came through before my Paypal money got there causing me to have a negative balance. Of course I freaked out and planned a trip to the bank, which is 10 miles away.
Not wanting to waste the trip and the gas, I decided I’d better go ahead and go grocery shopping while I was out. So, I hurriedly made a grocery list and menu and then went over there to deposit some cash I happened to have and try to grocery shop on $51 that I had left in my grocery envelope. This was a difficult task and I was $3.93 off and had to use the debit card for that. But I was CLOSE! I only had $50 this week rather than $60 because Monday night I had to go get my son some snacks for school and my hubby requested something sweet so I spent a few dollars there and something else came up too I can’t recall.
Anyway, My meals for the week running Thursday – Wednesday are:
Roast beef sammies, fries
Chicken fritters, mac/cheese, a veggie
Home made pizza
Chicken and wild rice casserole, 2 veggies
Burritos
Breakfast
Meatloaf, tators, a veggie
Chili
Beef stew
Now for some of the “deals” I got. I used several coupons a $1 coupon for the pillsbury pizza dough, a daisy sour cream coupon for $0.35 which the store doubled and Daisy was on sale for $0.99 so I got the sour cream for $0.29!!!! I got the frozen burritos which were on sale 2 for 0.79 I bought 4 and got them for $0.39 or $0.40 cents each. I also used a $1 jimmy dean sausage coupon.
total savings on coupons was $3.70. I know I’m still a newbie at this couponing thing, but I am getting better. I am feeding my family this week for $54 when I used to spend $100-110 a week on groceries.

Not bad, Alyssa. You’ll get the hang of coupons. Check the bottom of your receipt, too. Usually it will tally the sale items you bought without coupons for an added savings to your $3.70.
