Going Frugal in 2008

Published by Alyssa Avant at 9:14 am under Just Me

The Lord speaks to me in some mysterious ways sometimes but I truly feel Him telling me to go frugal in 2008 and to get on track with my house, family, budget, etc.

So I have a lot of work to do before 2008 gets here. I am going to

1.  Set up some working routines for my daily life.

2. Start organizing my home.

3.  Prepare a working budget.

4.  Prepare a Get out of debt plan.

5.  Find ways to be more frugal.

That’s pretty much the top 5 things I’m focusing on before Jan. 1 I need you all to root me on.

I have found some great frugal and couponing resources this morning.  Here are a few if you want to check them out.

Frugal Village- I joined the message boards and looking for their coupon train.

Cara’s Special Report -How to Save Money on Groceries

Coupon Mom - I joined this site too.

That sounds great Alyssa. I’m hoping to be more frugal in 2008 too! I’m working on a saving money section on one of my websites that I started a long time ago. I’ve also recently gotten into online coupon codes. They really work!

Kudos to you and your family on going Frugal! I know, we are big into savings in our home, and it is FUN! LOL Seriously! It is so rewarding to Pay Something off and know you have no more payments on this or that. Our goal last year was to pay off our truck, we did it! Currently, no vehicle payments at all! Very Nice! The truck was paid off two years in advance due to tightening the belt, etc… Cutting out spending that wasn’t necessary or missed! Check my blog from time to time to see ways we save and interesting site finds! Many times, when going frugal, you also (not even trying) help the environment!

Congratulations on this 2008 goal! It becomes a way of life and not difficult, but enjoyable!

Another thought! If you start blogging regularly about being frugal, frugal findings, etc…you can join the frugalhacks.com blogroll! I get my traffic from there along with a ton of great ideas for myself to increase my frugal and thrifty ways! :-)

    Merry Christmas!
    Happy New Year!

Some major frugal ideas would help a lot. We are not major spenders, however it’s an expensive world we live in, and sometimes I’d love to afford things like vacations and two decent cars.

Great goals! I seriously need to sit down and look at goals for 2008 as well. One great resource I found with information was Mary Hunt’s Debt Proof Living — her book and her website both provide great information.

    Hope this helps :)
