Do it yourself….Logo Design

Published by Alyssa Avant under Sponsored Reviews

I must admit I have always been a “do it yourself-er”. I would rather try to do it myself before asking someone to do it for me any day. Graphics and logos are something I love and have used in my own business/ministry but I had to pay for them because I didn’t have a way to actually “do it myself”. LogoYes has solved that problem for us. It allows anyone with no special skills even to design their own logo. This logo can be used from everything from billboards to business cards.

Logoyes allows you to try before you buy, and if you don’t like it you don’t buy it.  To me, that is a win-win situation if there ever was one. I mean when I have someone design my graphics I sometimes still have to pay them for their time and effort no matter what.  Logoyes solves that problem.  I can worry about that all myself and I know what I have in mind, so I can do it myself.

Logoyes it a “do it yourself-ers” dream. So if you are like me, you’ll love this do it yourself logo design. I sure like do it myself logo design. Hey, maybe soon I’ll even be able to do other graphics myself. First do it yourself logo design, later do it yourself graphic design.

How cool is that? Do you prefer doing it yourself over hiring someone? Let me know in the comments section below.

Published by Alyssa Avant under Memes

I know most people do Tackle it Tuesday, however this morning I woke up and felt like Tackling some things. So I wrote out a TO DO list and got started. There were 10 things on my list that I wanted to get done, mostly house wise. So, Here are the ten and you can see my progress as of 1:20 pm today.

  1. Make Bed.
  2. Clean up desk.
  3. Grocery list.
  4. Take out garbage.
  5. Pick up around house.
  6. Pay Bills.
  7. Clean kitchen.
  8. Start Chicken crockpot meal.
  9. Clean out my closet.
  10. list clothes on Ebay.

I’ve started on the grocery list and I”m slowly doing it. I will pay bills next. I plan to wait and clean kitchen after dinner. That would make for a very productive day. Dont’ you think? What did you do today?

God is in Control….Never be shaken.

Published by Alyssa Avant under Just Me, Just Ministry

“God is in control
We believe that His children will not be forsaken
God is in control
We will choose to remember and never be shaken
There is no power above or beside Him, we know
God is in control, oh God is in control”

Ok, again I’m singing my blog post, but I just can’t help it I”m so darn happy.  “Thing are going my way”.  Things are looking really good for me to get this part time  children’s ministry position.  The pastor, his wife, and daughter came to visit us at home last night.  He’s taking this proposal for me to come on part time to the deacons at the next Deacon’s Meeting.  I’m not sure when that is, but soon I am sure. I’m excited!

Feeling Good, Feeling Fine

Published by Alyssa Avant under Just Me

musicFeeling good, feeling fine! That’s me, because, “I’ve got a peaceful easy feeling and I know you won’t let me down, cuz I”m already standing on the ground”. LOL!! Ok, I”m using songs to blog today. I’m trying to “don’t worry, be happy”, don’t worry be happy now” Do doot do do do do do do do do doot do , doo do do do do.” LOL!

So, I am going to say my prayers are working, I’m trying to be patient as I wait on more word from the job. I did talk to the associate pastor yesterday and he tells me not to “despair” or get “discouraged” because they are in the process still of praying about this and then they have to take the next step. Sooo, I feel a peace about this and I feel very positive that this is going to go through.

So, “don’t worry, be happy” people out there and have a “super cala fragulistic expialodosious” day! (I know that is not spelled right but you know the Mary Poppins thing.

Different is good

Published by Alyssa Avant under Just Me, Just Ministry

I have always liked being different.  I didn’t like to just “fit in” I wanted to “stand out”.  Well, I believe that different can be good in a lot of areas.  Yesterday, we attended the church I am interviewing at, and it was “different” different from what we’re used to anyway.  The music was much more contemporary.  That was new to us, for church anyway.  I’ve listened to that type of music a lot just not “at church”.  But, I can definitely see myself getting used to it.

Anyway, it was a good experience.  I think we will be fine if I get the job, just something to get used to.  I am excited and still very hopeful.  Waiting for GOD to work.  Waiting is tough, I’m not good at it.   Pray for me.

Enlarge My Territory

Published by Alyssa Avant under Just Me, Just News

I don’t know if I shared here last month about the study we were doing in my Sunday School class or not, but we were studying The Prayer of Jabez. This prayer is quite short, but very powerful.

prayer“Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request.” 1 Chronicles 4:1

Anyway, one of the things we agreed to do was to pray this same prayer for ourselves. If you’ve never done so you’ll be surprised, but God truly does answer and begins to move in your life. I know yes, it may take more time for some than others. One key is that you must BELIEVE that God will do so. Regardless, I wanted to share my results with you.

You know I resigned from my position at my church in March when my baby girl was born. I wasn’t 100% sure that I would stay home and not get back into church ministry in the future, but the plan for the time being was to stay home with the kids and work on my girl’s ministry. So far, that’s what I’ve been doing. Now, don’t get me wrong. I love being at home, and would never want to work full time unless the kids were in school full time, but this opportunity is for part time. Things have been going okay so far, but I have missed church work, and we have also felt the pain in our pocketbook, without my salary.

Anyway, last week I got a phone call about a ministry opportunity, in children’ ministry, in the next town, my hometown, about 15 miles away. Last Wednesday I spoke with the staff there in sort of an ‘informal interview”. They seemed excited and my family and I are visiting their church services tomorrow. The church is a bit larger than ours, we run 140 members and they run 275. I’m excited about the possibility of God “enlarging my territory.”
