Remember back in school they used to call Wednesday, hump day, because after that it was all downhill to the weekend!! I’m glad of that this week too, because it gets me closer to a 3 day weekend with my hubby. I’m excited because the past two weekends he’s either been out of town or we all were occupied with stuff to do, this weekend we plan to stay home together.
Tomorrow, Baker and I are accompanying my friend April to the doctor out of town. We’ll go by Lifeway first to get some stuff for church and then out for lunch before her appointment at 1 pm. We will have to rush home because she and I have a TOMgirls meeting at church tomorrow night and Greg is going to be working an MSU football game, so I’ll have to get my momma to watch Baker. We have to meet her with him on the way home. Tonight is church, we’ll be going in just a little over an hour. We’re having a birthday party for one of my youth who is turing 17 tomorrow. The kids are bringing him gag gifts, one of which is a jar of mayonaisse because the guy hates the stuff. I got him a cake with a picture of him on it when he was about 5 dressed up all goofy. It is going to be fun! We’ll also have Bible study, the study is on What’s the Danger in Wanting Lots of STuff? I think God is speaking to me with it as much as the kids because since we’ve started cutting corners with our finances I find myself wanting more and more! Isn’t that human nature? TheDave Ramsey Plan is going well so far….I’ll keep ya’ll updated. Tomorrow is payday and the fun of a budget for September begins. Wish me Luck!

I have to vent and I was even more led to do so when I looked up at the top of my blog screen and noticed an AD from the very people I wanted to vent about , FED EX. I recently began working the Dave Ramsey plan as you know from previous blogs, and I ordered one of Dave’s Envelope Systems to help me with my plan and it was to be delivered yesterday. To say the least I was a bit more than excited. However today I began trying to track the package and Fed Ex’s website revealed that my package had been delivered yesterday afternoon, no signature required and was supposedly at my front door. I go to my front door, to find NOTHING. My package is NOT there. This is NOT the first time that FED EX has delivered my package to somewhere other than my house. In fact every time I have had FED EX deliver something to me, it has ended at my neighbors or even at the school in town, luckily my FIL works there and brought it home to me. So, now I have no clue where it is. I have called all the neighbors and called FED EX back. They offered very little explanation or answers. I am so annoyed!

Day 2 of Dave Ramsey and I am feeling much better. I feel that we are on the right track. We’re going to be paying off some of the smaller debts with the extra money we have on hand and paying for our approaching vacation with the money we’ve earned working extra hours lately. Luckily my hubby is good at extra jobs, He worked security at a BIke rally recently, is referreing ballgames and is working security at MSU football games. SO the extra income will help us greatly. Plus I’m still selling some BeautiControl and getting extra from that. This process is looking better by the minute.

My husband and I are starting out on another journey of trying to get a rein on our spending and our debt. Last night I joined Dave Ramsey’s Total Money Makeover website. Dave has helped my husband and I before , in the early years of our marriage when I was a college student and hubby was making much less than he is now we used Dave’s budget tips to help keep our finances in sync and we had little to no debt, no house payment, a couple small car payments and not much else. We couldn’t afford much, so we didn’t buy much. Needless to say, the more money you begin to make the more money you believe you can afford to spend and things just get out of hand. I also have not been so smart with my home based business which has gotten me into some debt as well, unfortunately. Now with Baby #2 on the way, I feel the ever pressing urge to get our finances under strict control, begin saving, and doing things much smarter when it comes to money. So…. I hope you all who read my blog will encourage me on this new journey. One thing is for sure, with high gas and utility bills, the rising cost of living, and just sheer stupidity on my part this will not be easy. But, I will pray that the Lord will give me the strength each day. As soon as we get paid again we’re going on our BUDGET, as today we don’t have any money to spend anyway. So… payday will be next week and our journey will begin. I’ll try and keep you posted.

Just another day here at the AVANT house. I have a TO DO list a mile long running through my head if I’d ever slow down enough to write it down. A long to do list though just distracts me sometimes and causes me to think “I’ll never get all this done.” Most of this is household related and some is church related as well. Right now I am printing postcards for the Sunday School classes. That’s going to take a while, I then have to address them and get stamps for them, which means a trip to town unfortunately. I may wait till tomorrow to mail them. Today is a dreary rainy day, though we absolutely needed the rain. So I’ll just be happy. I did sell a bunch of my BeautiControl inventory yesterday which I was super excited about. Moving inventory is something I need to do terribly right now! WHOO HOO!! Hope everyone is having a great day!

Well went to the Doctor yesterday, OBGYN, it was a long visit that didn’t consist of much, information taking mainly. I am 9 weeks pregnant. Baby is due sometime around March 22. THe doctor basically said I knew the drill and gave me a prescription for new prenatals to take. He is very nice, this is a different doctor than delivered Baker. He is no longer practicing. Nothing real interesting took place. I am praising GOd that I have insurance this time and don’t have to pay that big chunk of money to the doctor nor the hospital. I was singing Hallelujah about that.

Beginning last Thursday I began taking Vitamin B6 which I learned was good for the nausea and such associated with pregnancy. This has helped a bit with the nausea and I am now just mainly feeling tired and run down with some stomach cramping and such sometimes too, mostly heartburn type feelings. Hopefully this will all be over soon. I am sure ready for that “I can conquer the world” stage of pregnancy.
Just to update everyone on my job situation, last night my church voted for me to go back to a part time position with my salary remaining the same. My salary for this whole time I have been full time has really been a part time salary anyway. So, this just makes everything line up again.
Last night we held a Youth and Children’s Committee meeting and got lots of planning underway for August, September and October. I definitely still have alot of work to do. I just hope I can get to feeling better so I can feel like doing it.
